Blossom Ceremonies | About Me | Funeral Celebrant
I absolutely love the role of a Celebrant.  I have learnt so much from my clients, made many friends, heard so many wonderful life stories and lots of sad stories too but in each and every case it has been a real honour and privilege to be involved in creating a Ceremony that honours and celebrates the life that has been lived.

About Me

Originally from Bexhill on Sea in East Sussex, I now live in Ilminster, Somerset with my husband Phil, our four dogs, six cats, our rabbit and our guinea pig…………yes, I’m a bit mad on animals!  My daughter Tegan lives not far from us either so we are all quite a close family.

I became a Civil Celebrant after the loss of our twins and then my father.  With the loss of twins I felt somewhat abandoned by ‘religion’, with the thoughts of why would a ‘good god’ allow something so awful to happen to us.  It set me on a different track spiritually and, over time, I found peace within myself.  I then lost my father in 2012.  Now he was a character!  Totally non-religious, there was no way I could have a vicar perform his service; he always believed that God would strike him down if he ever set foot in a church, and so a ‘Celebrant’ was sought to conduct his ceremony.  It was the most moving and personal funeral ceremony I had ever been to and we came away feeling uplifted and contented that we had ‘done our Dad proud’.

It was at that point I turned to my husband and said to him that I would love to be a Celebrant.  Always being supportive of my ideas, he backed me 100%.  I did my research, found The Fellowship of Professional Celebrants who trained me and I have been doing the work ever since!
